Programme of meetings:-
The next meeting of the Society will be on Wednesday 27th January, 2010, at 7.30 pm in Brigstock Village Hall. Janice Harper will give a talk on "Faxton's Lost Church". The speaker will relate the story of the church and the protracted fight to save it from demolition.The illustrated talk will include the church wall paintings , stories of the saints associated with the church and a computer reconstruction of the building. Guests and visitors are welcome, £2 entrance or annual membership of £5.News from the Historical Society:-
Following our notice asking for information on the Slawson family we have received a positive response in an e-mail from a Mr Riordan who is tracing his family history and has connections with the Slawson family in Brigstock in the 19thC. The person who made the original enquiry has now contacted Mr Riordan and hopefully this will be of mutual benefit in their searches.
