Police Appeal for Lyveden ward which includes: Brigstock, Lowick, Slipton, Sudborough and Twywell

We are appealing for any information about the whereabouts of 14-year-old Martika Cook, who has been missing since Saturday 3 September.

Martika, who has gone missing before, was last seen at her home address in Causin Close, Brigstock, Kettering.

She is white, of slim build, with very long dark brown hair and brown eyes. Please click here for a photograph

Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may know of Martika’s whereabouts or may have seen her since she went missing. Officers are also urging her to come forward to confirm they are safe and well.

News in brief

An exhibition of policing in Northamptonshire is presently on display in the People's Gallery section of Northampton Museum. Visitors are welcome to attend the exhibition at the museum in Guildhall Road, Northampton. It closes on Friday 16 September

Tractors – Three tractors were reported stolen. Two were telehandlers and the other was put into a horsebox which was also stolen from the same location.

Vehicles – Two reports of 4x4s being stolen from rural locations, one a Landrover Defender and the other a Landrover Freelander. There was one reported theft of a quad bike.

Trailers - Five reports of trailers being stolen; one being a horse trailer and other items such as troughs, feed bins and electric fencing were also taken at the same time. Two Ifor Williams flatbed trailers were taken from a yard and another Ifor Williams flatbed and a Bateson 125 trailer were taken in separate incidents.

Tools – 11 reports of tools/equipment being stolen. Generators, mowers and strimmers but also a pressure washer, a drill and a chainsaw were stolen. An irrigation pump worth £15,000 was stolen and another one targeted in a separate incident where the fuel and battery were taken.

Fuel – 10 reports in total, three were central heating oil thefts, one being a repeat victim. Other reports were mainly from vehicles such as tractors and lorries parked up in yards and one theft of a bowser containing diesel from a farm.

Scrap –12 reports of thefts of scrap metal or potential scrap, including thefts of digger buckets, tractor parts, a subsoiler and numerous batteries from electric fencing and caravans.

Fencing – Five reports of theft of fencing; gates, including wrought iron railings, palisade fencing and electric fencing units. Criminal damage to electric fencing was also reported.

Animals – Two reports of chickens, one with chicks and feeders etc, being stolen. A report of one sheep and 10 lambs being shot with a rifle and another 26 lambs were taken from the same field.

Up to 150 scaffolding boards with lilac paint on the ends.
Three reports of statues/garden ornaments being taken; including a bronze lady sculpture, four large stone pineapples, an ornamental urn and a selection of kerbstones.
Two bridles from a stables
Three reports of caravans being stolen
Two reports of stolen boats (ribs) and outboard motors
Two reported burglaries at stables where nothing has been reported as stolen.
Two reports of criminal damage caused to padlocked and chained gates which may be linked to other crimes that occurred on neighbouring land.
